Assam Chess Club Player in National Under 9 Chess Championship 2018



Mrinmoy Rajkhowa a student of Grade III of Sudershan Public School Guwahati and Darsh Jain a student of Grade II of Royal Global School Guwahati (both of Assam Chess Club) will be  representing Assam in the 32nd National Under 9 Chess Championship 2018 at Ranchi,Jharkhand from 15th to 23rd September 2018. A total of 448 players which include 268 boys and 148 girls are participating in this 11 round swiss league event organized by the Jharkhand Chess Association under the aegis of All India Chess Federation, the governing body of Chess in India and recognized by the Ministry of Sports & Youth Welfare Government of India. The top 3 players from each of the Open and Girls category will be selected to represent India in the Asian Cadet (Under 10) Chess championship and World Cadet (Under 10) Chess Championship to be held next year.

Mrinmoy was also the 2nd runner up (Bronze Medalist) in the National Under 7 Chess Championship 2017 and had represented India at the Asian Cadet (Under 8)Chess Championship 2018 at Thailand this year and will be representing India at the World Cadet (Under 8) Chess Championship to be held at Spain from 3rd to 16th November 2018.

A group of total 11 players from Assam are participating in the 32nd National Under 9 Chess Championship 2018 this year.
